Welcome to the Media Makers Club

The Media Makers Club is a companion site to TV Humboldt, a revolutionary new "folk media" TV channel for Humboldt County.

The site you're looking at is a support system for TV Humboldt, but it's WAY more than just that! It's a social and professional networking site for media-makers of all types and all skill levels in Humboldt County, CA.

So why have an online community for local media-makers? In one word: COLLABORATION. Teamwork is central to making great media. Working alone, we rarely achieve the excellence that's possible through working together. The Media Makers Club is here to help connect up local media-makers so we can together begin unlocking the power of collaboration.

The Club is a place to meet, mingle, and get busy building effective teams. A spot to link up and interact with like-minded locals whose skills and equipment you need to create the sort of media you want. A place where a growing sense of community unfolds among local media-makers. 

As we become more networked, it becomes progresssively easier for us all to combine our skills, talents, equipment and resources to create better and better media projects.

As our media improves, our careers improve, and we begin moving decisively toward Humboldt's potential future as a major center for the emerging independent media industry. An industry run by artists and communicators, instead of a half dozen giant media companies. Imagine Humboldt as a thriving hub of this new independent media industry!
